Collaborated with the City of Bergamo, Italy and the University of Bergamo on design research exploring the ‘Future of Retail.’ Via Quarenghi – a street in downtown Bergamo, was selected as a site. This area of inquiry was chosen to deploy a project consisting of tables with projected information about the city and local retailers. Illuminated street furniture prototypes act as wayfinding devices and educational nodes, informing the public about the history of the area and the narratives of contemporary business owners. The design is a kit-of-parts which includes illuminated street stools and keepsake illuminated bottles. Using a well-known camping hack, a 3D-printed a base was designed with integrated LED lighting features, creating a water bottle flashlight - a momento which also serves as a device to connect people in a shared experience. 'Momento' is designed to be fully flat packed and easily deployed in an urban or rural environment.
